Modern Garden Room: Design & Inspiration

Given our name, you shouldn’t be surprised to find that our contemporary garden room designs are second to none! Using modern materials of the highest quality such as a red cedar and highly durable composites, our designers create beautiful bespoke garden rooms for any number of uses.

We specialise in clean, modern design with an airy feel – often using large windows and French doors to create elegant and open-facing spaces that are a pleasure to work or relax in. Currently popular designs take cuboid forms, with stunning aesthetics that take their cue from modern, minimalistic architecture. Inspired by the modern taste for Scandinavian style finishes, we specialise in western red cedar cladding and Thermowood finishes – both sourced from our local supplier. Both offer a simply beautiful finish that suits any garden setting when set against the lush greens of your lawn or verges.

This style affords the use of large areas of glazing, allowing natural light to flood the space inside. An added benefit can be that when lit up on dark winter evenings, your garden will have the warm glow of the light within. All our buildings come standard with graphite up/down lights to light up the decking and garden if being used in the evening. Customers can choose from French doors or sliding patios doors which come in anthracite colour as a standard but this can be their choice. Aluminium building doors are also a very popular option and are great for letting in an abundance of natural light.

But it’s about more than just aesthetics. We use the highest quality glazing to make sure your contemporary garden office, lodge or bar is toasty warm all year round while not compromising on that gorgeous natural light. And to finish off? You can choose from a range of frames – from natural wood, to UPVC to stylish aluminium. We also use the highest quality insulation. All builds come with foundations, insulated roofing panels and are fully insulated throughout with 75mm of acoustic rated Rockwool and 25mm sheet Kingspan in all walls and floor with a plasterboard and plastered finish. Customers can purchase a WIFI controlled wall mounted heater from our extras list if they wish.

Of course, if privacy is more necessary (perhaps you don’t want the neighbours watching you sweating over the treadmill in your private garden gym!) then you can choose smaller windows and doors – although you could also consider installing blinds or sashes to get the best of both worlds.

• Cube– Our stunning and sleek cube design allows more natural light to shine into the room.
• Canopy– Our most popular design offers that bit of shelter from the rain or sun when wanting to sit out on your decking- why not add some canopy downlights to really finish the building off.
• Concave – Similar to our canopy design but with walls each side offering shelter and shade from the British weather along with a bit more privacy for those who need.
